A family of six has two good options in Cabo, and they point in opposite directions: comfort or speed. One is a roomy motor yacht built for a long, easy day with a galley and shade. The other is a fast boat built for energy and water toys. Knowing which kind of day you want makes the boat obvious.
If you want the full lineup first, the comparison of the Aquaholic, CBS, and Aplush lays out all three. Here is how it shakes out for a family.
The Comfort Pick: The CBS or the Aquaholic
For a family that wants room to spread out, the CBS handles six easily. At around seventy feet it carries up to about ten comfortably, so six is roomy, with an upper deck, an air-conditioned cabin, a sun pad, and a shaded seating area. For more space and more luxury, the Aquaholic is the upgrade: a jacuzzi, a full galley, cabins, and multiple bathrooms, which matters when half the group wants sun and the other half wants shade and a nap.
The larger boats also have what makes a long day with kids work: shade, air conditioning, cabins for a rest, and more than one bathroom. Nobody is stuck in the sun for six hours, and nobody is waiting in line.
The Fun Pick: The Aplush
If the goal is energy rather than lounging, the Aplush is the boat. It is a brand-new speedboat that seats six and runs fast, and it tows a large donut off the back, the kind of thing that becomes the part of the trip the kids retell for the rest of the year. It does not have a galley, so it suits shorter outings of two to three hours rather than a full lunch on the water, but for a high-energy morning of speed, snorkeling, and the towable, it is hard to beat.
Keeping Kids Comfortable
Whichever boat you choose, the captain reads the day’s conditions and picks the calmest, best spots for snorkeling, which keeps younger kids happy and the water gentle. There is shade, water from the car onward, and Dramamine and a first-aid kit aboard if anyone is prone to motion sickness. If seasickness is a worry, the guide to staying comfortable on the water covers how the crew handles it.
How Long to Book
A family day usually works best at four to six hours, long enough to swim, eat, and explore without rushing, and the pricing breakdown shows what changes as you add hours. For the full list of what comes included, see what’s included in a charter.
When you know the boat, you can see the fleet and book a charter for your family’s dates.
